Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Free Fourth of July Fun

Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation invites the public to the annual Fourth of July celebration Saturday, July 4 from 6-10 p.m. (THIS IS A TIME CHANGE DUE TO EXTREME HEAT)

This free event takes place at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, 10300 Courthouse Road. It includes a kids zone, food vendors, live music by KOS Band, special entertainment, fireworks and more!

This year’s main stage musical entertainment, KOS Band, is an eleven-piece musical group playing all the best dance music with enthusiasm and showmanship. The band will play a first set at 6 p.m. and a second set following the National Anthem featuring the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Honor Guard. A DJ will provide musical entertainment when the band is not on stage.

Satisfy food cravings with 17 delicious local food vendors offering a wide range of meals and treats.

The free kids zone is open from 6-8:30 p.m. with bounce houses, slides, roaming entertainers, and glitter tattoos!

Allowed items

  • Blankets, chairs and coolers will be permitted. Water is encouraged but must be in unopened bottles.

  • Alcohol
  • Glass bottles
  • Illegal weapons
  • Personal fireworks
  • Tents or canopies
  • Only service dogs are allowed. Please do not leave pets in the car, even with windows cracked.

All persons and belongings are subject to search.

The event will take place rain or shine. Follow the Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Facebook or Instagram pages and Chesterfield.gov/Fireworks for event updates. In case of severe weather, please go to your vehicle or seek shelter as directed by event staff.

Enter the parking area via Krause Road and be directed to park at

  • L.C. Bird High School (handicapped accessible parking)
  • Career and Technical Center - Courthouse Campus
  • O.B. Gates Elementary School
  • Chesterfield County Government Complex
  • Chesterfield Courthouse

Lots closest to the fairgrounds will fill first so the earlier you arrive, the closer you will park.

Exiting the event guests returning to their cars will have a designated pedestrian lane of Courthouse Road and sidewalks on Government Center Parkway and Lucy Corr Boulevard.

Vehicles will be directed by police to Iron Bridge Road where they will be able to turn left or right.
