Programs for Littles (Birth–Age 5)
Splash & Giggles: A Social Swim for Parents & Littles
- Thursdays, January 8th - April 30th
- 9:00 am - 10:00 am

For ages Birth-5. Splash & Giggles offers a warm, re-laxed space for moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers to connect while little ones enjoy playful water time. Share the highs, lows, and in-betweens of raising young children, meet new friends, and bond with your child in a supportive, family-friendly environment. Enjoy gentle water play, social connection, and a welcoming community for all. Registration ongoing.
Programs for Kids (Ages 6–12)
Swift Creek Theatre-The Elves and the Shoemaker
- Monday, April 27th
- Departure Time: 9:30 a.m. Return Time: Noon
- Transportation fee: $5/10
For ages 5-7. The Grimm Brothers’ classic tale of the poor cobbler who gets some unexpected help from some tiny friends… friends who come to his shop in the middle of the night to do their job. Lots of music, lots of laughs, and lots of heart as the audience learns the value of work and compassion. The perfect springtime treat! Performance begins at 10:15 a.m. The cost of the show ticket and lunch is on your own.
Adult guardian must be present. Registration ends April 6.

Programs for Teens (Ages 13–18)
- Friday, March 13th, 4-6:30 p.m.
- Cost: $5/$10

For ages 13-15. Take dodgeball to the pool! Players use floating devices to stay afloat while dodging, throwing, and diving in this fast-paced, water-filled twist on the classic game. A fun and active way to build teamwork, agility, and water confidence for swimmers of all ages. Registration ends on the day of the event.

For ages 12-17. Spend quality time with our director while enjoying pizza. This casual gathering is the perfect opportunity to relax, chat about park programs, and share your ideas and feedback in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Don't miss out on the chance enjoy great conversation and of course, free pizza! Registration ends the day of the event.

- Skate Park, Hopewell Community Center
For ages 10-18. Think you’ve got what it takes to kick flip your way to the top? Join us at the skate park for the Sk8 & Shred Showdown, a trick competition where style, creativity, and skill take center stage. Whether you're dropping in for the first time or you’ve got your signature move down, this is your chance to show off your best tricks and earn some bragging rights (and maybe a prize or two)!
We'll have divisions for different skill levels, music, prizes, and good vibes all around. Helmets, pads, and waiver required; participants must provide their own skateboard. Registration ends April 24.

For ages 5-17. Join our skateboarding club led by experienced volunteers where you can learn to skate and connect with other skaters in the area. Please remember to bring pads and helmets, as they are required for participation. For weather updates and cancellations, follow @HopewellSk8Club on Instagram. Tuesdays, 6-8 p.m. Hopewell Skate Park. Free.
Special Olympics Young Athletes
- Tuesdays, February 10th - April 28th

For ages 2-7. Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID). Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Children of all abilities take part, and they all benefit. Each week will build on skills from the previous week. However, all are welcome to start at any point.

For all ages. Celebrate spring with a fun and family friendly Eggstravaganza featuring a festive in water egg hunt. Participants will search for eggs during scheduled hunts, followed by time in the pool to swim, play, and enjoy the event together. Registration ends on the day of event.

For all ages. Join Prince George Extension Master Gardeners for a fun and informative session on the basics of composting. Discover how to transform everyday household waste into rich, nutritious compost that will boost your flower garden - all while having a positive impact on the environment! Participants will be provided with a composting booklet written by our Extension Master Gardeners, as well as a GeoBin® composting system to kick-start their composting journey! Registration ends March 31.
Lego Block Pool Party and Cookout
- Friday, April 10th, 5-7:30 p.m.
- Cost: $10/$15
- Hopewell Community Center
For all ages. Celebrate with a LEGO-themed pool party and cookout! Kids can enjoy swimming, LEGO-inspired games and activities on the deck, and a fun cookout with friends and family. A perfect way to splash, play, and make memories in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.

- Cost: $5/$10

For all ages. This inclusive swim time is designed for individuals with disabilities and their families to enjoy the water together in a comfortable, supportive environment. The session provides a quieter pool setting with space for free play, water exploration, and confidence-building activities. Lifeguards are present, but direct supervision by a parent or caregiver is required.
