Dinwiddie County Parks, Recreation Youth Programs

Dinwiddie County Parks & Recreation is rolling out a well-rounded mix of youth and teen programs this season, offering something for every interest—from sports to the arts. Families can sign up for co-ed basketball (ages 4–14), youth wrestling (ages 5–14), or a photography workshop for ages 15 and up. Each program is designed to build skills, confidence, and community, with experienced instructors and age-appropriate divisions. All of the following activities take place at the Eastside Enhancement Center (7301 Boydton Plank Rd, N Dinwiddie, VA 23803). 🏀 Basketball (Co-Ed)

Organized by Dinwiddie County Parks & Recreation, this program offers age-based divisions with both in-house and travel team options.

• Instructional (Ages 4–5): Practice & play in McKenney
• Juniors (6–7) & Seniors (8–9): In-house games
• Super Seniors (10–11) & Teens (12–14): Travel Tri-Cities league 

💰 Fee: $55 Resident / $75 Non-Resident

🤼 Youth Wrestling (Ages 5–14)

Led by Coach Santiago, a USA Wrestling Certified Coach with 14+ years of experience, this program teaches foundational wrestling skills and techniques. 

💰 Fee: $65 Resident / $85 Non-Resident

📸 Photography Course 

Join local pro photographer Ken Newman for a hands-on Fundamentals of Photography workshop on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9 AM to Noon. Students must be age 15+. 

🎯 What You’ll Learn:

• Managing light and camera settings
• Capturing motion and composing strong images
• Editing techniques and exploring genres like portraits, sports, wildlife, and landscapes

📦 What to Bring:

• Your camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced compact)
• Instruction manual, lenses, charged battery, and memory card
